its all in the driver. i think the Supra Non-Turbo can't take the Evo. BUT the Supra Twin-Turbo can kill the Evo 8. On the Launch, the Evo, but prolly 2nd gear the Supra will pass by the Evo 8. Supras are strong, especially the Twin-Turbo Supras. Supras can take the Evo 8, in MY opinion

stock in a staight line, the tt supra will most likely beat the evo, but not by much.

in a track race, the evo will most likely kick the supras ass, if you consider that both drivers are equal.

i dont really know the specs for the supra but i think the evo can take the supra. in depends on the driver (like always). the evo Vl 0-60 is around 4.4 sec and 1/4 mile is 13 sec. the evo Vlll is 0-60 is 4.8 but the slowest time is seen is 5.3 so far. i dont think the evo can take a tt supra though. anyone knows the specs for the supra?

the evo's 0-60 in 4.8 is virtually impossible in the us spec model, and incredibly rare in the jspec model.
I'm pretty sure that's realistic in the (mr?) edition.
the evo goes the quarter mile in real life avg of 13.4 or 13.5.

from all the numbers ive seen, the supra got anwhere from 4.9-5.3 to 60, and 13.2-13.6 for 1/4 mile.

this is the time i see pretty much everywere i look 13.5. people have said it runs everywere to 12.9 stock to 13.8. but in most tests and in most sites and most mags the supra ran 13.5. as far as the evo-8 in most mags it runs 13.4 to 13.1. so the hell with the supra, i'm going evo-8 on this in either track or straight line 1/4mile.
you can argue all you want, but i'm sticking with evo-8

In the 1/4 mile it would be a drivers race, probably pretty close, but I would say that the Supra has much more potential for the 1/4 mile than the Evo. If I were building a drag racer, of the two, I would take the Supra. The track would be a different story. On the track it is always a drivers race so, all things being equal, the Evo would kill the Supra on the track. If I were building a track car I would take the Evo hands down.

It all depends on what kind of racing you want to do. You can't have a car that will be great at both the 1/4 and the track.

well as polygon said...if you want to go all out drag racing the supra should be a better choice

however for road racing the evo is nothing short of astounding

so IMO it really comes down to your priorities

the Evo has better acceleration, and the Supra is faster in wild tracks. these days no one care about the top speeds in long tracks, people compare the cars by its acceleration in 1-100m and 0-400m in seconds.

Hmm, this is a good one. I would have to go with the Evo myself. 4 doors, 271 hp, and AWD make for a mighty tempting offer. After I get an S2000, the EVO will most definitely be the car after. I just have so much respect for the engineering in it. Don't get me wrong though, the Supra is a great vehicle, and has a large following to boot. Hell, you can find plenty of aftermarket stuff EASY for a supra as well.
