240SX | Silvia | 200SX(RWD) | Gazelle | 180SX>Stock engine potential of an S14
Schister66 11:32 AM 11-19-2005
i assume since its an S14 it has the black top SR20det....i'm wondering what the stock engine potential is on 92 octane.....

i don't know much about Nissan's yet, but i'm just wondering. I've kinda been looking at them for a while.....different 240's w/ SR swaps, but most of them are stock and put down like 220hp or so, but i'm wondering what their potential is w/ a new turbo, mani, and exhaust....

thanks for the help........

If you have the bills, you can make like 800whp. And "putting down" means power at the wheels, stock S13-S14 SRs don't make over 200hp at the wheels.

well s13's in aus pull about 100-120 kilowatt stock thats about 134 - 160 hp same with 180sx's, so s14's should hav a little bit more than that ,whats the difference with red top and black top sr20's??

54c internals did 600whp+. NO idea what peak torque was on that tho.

Redtop and black top S13 SRs have minor differences, but same power output, the S14 and S15 blacktops, or notchtops because o fthe variable valve timing hump on the valve cover, put out more horsepower.

No, you should.

1. Learn how to drive properly.
2. Buy a 180SX with the SR20DET in it already.
3. Put simple mods on it.
4. Relearn how to drive properly.
5. Learn how to drive on a race track.
6. Get more power.
7. Try to not kill yourself.

Hopefully by the time you get to step 2 you will be about 19 - 20 yrs. old and understand the real world.

On pump gas you won't go over 400whp. You'd be looking at about 350 - 380whp tops.

You don't need any more power than that to do anything.

Of course this is down the road when you have a real setup.

No....

The Rhombus tuning car was doing 500whp+ on pump gas... T66

With water injection or alcohol injection, more power on pump gas is attainable...

No idea.....

Trapping 110 on a stock weight S13 usually means 290-300whp...
