I voted for my father since he was missing 3 fingers on one hand, It happen from his Tree surgeon days. He was about 23 - 24 years old and up in like a 80 foot tree with a safetly line wrapped around his hand. He fell and due to the 40 - 50 foot drop , it ripped three of his fingers off right from the knuckle. He was rushed to the emergency room where they attempted to reattach but too much time had passed and they had to be removed again. I however once chopped off the tip of my thumb but it was not more than can grow back normally. So my hands looks normal.

I also had a teacher of social studys who was missing a index finger but I never had enough balls to ask for a explanation

Ouch. I had a friend get about half of one finger cut off. The doctors said it was such a clean cut that they could reattach it for him but he didn't want them to since he already lost it. I half way cut through my thumb and first finger on my right hand. I was in shop class sawing some boards and the board broke and my hand went right into the saw blade. It's healed back pretty well, I can barely see the scar now.

i put an electric saw half way through my thumb. didn't even notice.

3 days in hospital, 1 operation, 4 months of hand therapy and it almost works.

didn't cut it right off and there's no 1/2 option.
