There's a broad spectrum of V6 Camaro's.. You're going to need to be more specific. I have no idea what size V6 motors the 1st and 2nd gens came with, but the 3rd gens came with the 2.8's, and 3.1's.. the 4th gens came with the 3.4, and 3.8's.. Stock, most V6's aren't fast, as they are designed for economy purposes. But any engine can be made fast.. For instance, this guy here:
http://www.turbov6camaro.com/home.htm

A couple days ago he ran this in his 3.8L
60 --- 1.833
1/8 --- 7.6
mph -- 91
1/4 --- 11.78
MPH -- 115

The 3.8's are better and easier to modify, as they a larger aftermarket for them.

Many 3.8s are in the 13s and finally more and more are breaking into the 12s, and 11s even too. We finally have sufficient aftermarket and tuning capabilities to make this progress.

ZZP and Intense both have 9 sec 3.8 grand prix's.

As stated Andrew ran an 11.78 yesterday... backup run is pending fixing whatever is causing cylinder 3 to become flooding with oil.

Defne fast.

The '89 Pontiac TransAm "Pace Car Edition" was a low 13 second car, as delivered, with a "warmer" version of the Buick Grand National engine.

When it comes to cars, the term "fast" is relative to what you're wanting to compete or compare against. If I drive a '69 GTO, NO, your V6 is NOT fast... If I drive a '91 LeMans, yes, your V6 is a BEAST! Do I drive one of these? Nope.

Just keeping things in perspective...(:-

To answer your question without hypotheticals, no. Quarter mile time is 16+ seconds, and gets higher as the years get lower.

stock, some of the newer ones arent bad..the old ones were pretty shitty. i loved my 2.8 cuz of the gasmileage/lightness (relatively) but..for power/weight i gotta say my friends 240 was better.

potential? hell yes.

With the amount of money it would take to make a v6 run with V8 (LS1), you might as well just buy a V8.

some would say that, but its the challege to get it to run 13's or whatever you consider fast. It might be more money but in the end I think youll be happy you modded the car with sweat and blood......:-)
