this made sense to me. to clarify it, this is from rennlist, it's how to make the air flow in my air intake better. here's the original post:

i read that theres a spring on AFM that operates a flap allowing air through, then matching the fuel and cumbustion occurs. for all those lost already, in that little box right after the air filter box(87 n/a). then after that there's a horribly designed intake system that does anything but free flow air.

i was thinking of(don't kill me!) using an advanced auto cold intake(cause it's smooth and strait) from the intake plenum foward. now i relize with that sensor i'd have to retain it for the car to opperate. how can i remove the spring inside it so the flap stays open...or basically use the cold air intake, without messing up the sensor.

plus the shape of the intake, a lil bend at thte tip, would allow the intake air to come in just as fresh as though through the fender


note: no bitching please, it doesn't seem like there's much out there for n/a's. though a cold air wont give much if any power, it'll sound better and hell you never kno what it could do.

Igovert pops up once every few months. Young will show up 2-3 times a month. Yogs pops his head in about once a month. Mushashi hasn't been around in awhile though.

Haha yeah I still ride a CRF450R and now have a BPU VR4 but I still have my SL as well. So do you still have the 300ZX or have you crashed it yet. :-)

Well, after getting out of the ER tonight I have decided that my home defense weapons will remain in place until they are absolutely needed. I have a Cold Steel Tactical Ti Lite knife that can be drawn out at the speed of a switch blade and things went wrong. Here is a picture at the ER of my leg nearly missing the artory:
